Grand challenges - LES an Earth Simulator

Scores of scientists around the world have come together to build an earth simulator to study patterns occurring in the earth such as weather, diseases etc. In one another step towards understanding ourselves from the science and that has been developed so far, it sounds exciting and inciting. Why we need grand challenges? Its not just to reach the goal, which is  usually grand in itself and might not be easily reachable. Grand challenges are hard to met, be it exploration of the moon which was one among the successful challenges or be it a treatment of cancer, which is still as elusive as it used to be years before. However, narrowing down search and study for such challenges in fact opens up vast knowledge in different directions enriching us with new techniques and technologies possibly to make human living better. LES is thus an interesting program and should create opportunity capture our planet's behaviorism in useful depth. To read more click here
